Notification on the Postal Code Change in Israel (IL)

In February 2013, the Israel Post service announced the change of IL’s 5-digit postal code to 7-digit postal code.

In DHL Express, both 5-digit and 7-digit postal codes are accepted during the transition period, however, effective from 1 July 2017, we will only accept the new 7-digit postal code for shipments sending to Israel.
  • How to enter postal code when requesting pick-up: Please start to use the new 7-digit postal code when requesting pick-up through DHL’s electronic shipping solutions (ex. MyDHL)
  • Recommendations: In order to reduce the impact of postal code change, please use the 7-digit postal code as soon as possible since the old postal code will expire soon.
  • If you are planning or sending shipments into Israel, please use new postal code to avoid customs clearance delay and misclassification. Please also note that only 7-digit Israel postal code can be used in all DHL Express’ Electronic Shipping Solutions from 1 July 2017 onwards.
